Lexile Information

Welcome to the Media Center!  

We use lexiles in the library to help students to get a book on their reading level.  Students take a computer generated test to determine their lexile.  Following that, they know what "color" their lexile is by using the chart found here.  Using that color, they will find a book in their lexile on the fiction shelves. The books have stickers on the binding. When they have gotten a book in their reading level, they are free to pick a book in their interest; that book does not have to be in their lexile.

The bottom line?  Get a book in your lexile and get a book in your interest!
